Why Are Cold Pressed Oils Better Than Refined Oils?

There is no more precious treasure than health. People use oils either for massage or to cook food. So, it becomes imperative to choose the oil carefully & wisely, especially if you are looking for your baby. Two types of oils are available in the market, namely refined oil & cold pressed oil. So, read on to know the difference between the two and which one is good to use.

What is Refined Oil?

Hot-pressed oil, better known as refined oil, is extracted using a high temperature. The oil is prepared by cleaning the seed and grinding at a very high speed that creates heat up to 200 degrees Celsius. Moreover, some chemicals are used to make the oil.

What is Cold-Pressed Oil?

These oils are obtained by pressing the seeds with a modern steel or wooden press at a slow speed with low heat that helps in retaining the minerals & nutrients. The cold-pressed oil is healthier and provides many health benefits.

Cold Press VS Refined Oil – The Difference

Well, there are many differences between cold pressed & hot pressed oil. Cold-pressed coffee offers many health benefits if we talk about its nutritional value. It is rich in higher Omega 3 (anti-inflammatory) fatty acid, antioxidants, Vitamin E, healing properties, and other properties.

Moreover, cold-pressed oil is rich in oleic acid, which helps improve the body's immune system.

While on the other hand, refined oil involves filtration and includes many unwanted chemicals and heat that make the oil look shiny. This process of extracting oil from oilseed separates natural organic ingredients that benefit the body. Also, it has a lot of fat that is void of nutrition.

Types of Cold-Pressed Oil

You can use any of these cold-pressed natural oils.

Sesame Oil– Sesame oil is considered the king of oil that contains sesamol, which helps to absorb Vitamin E. The oil is rich in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B6 and has effective antioxidant & anti-fungal properties that make it an excellent choice for massage.

Coconut Oil – Natural cold pressed coconut oil retains cocositol, a naturally occurring plant alcohol found in high quantities in coconut. It is rich in Vitamin K and Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant that helps prevent the free radical damage of a cell and has powerful antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties.

Sweet Almond Oil – The oil is rich in Vitamin A, E, B1 & B6, which help hydrate & even prevent dryness by penetrating the skin. It contains Vitamin E & A, essential fatty acid, zinc, and potassium. It even protects the skin from UV radiation, adds moisturizer, and soothes it.
